Rafflesia

The Rafflesia plant has no stems, leaves or true roots. It is a type of flowering plant. Raffelesia was found in the Indonesia rain forest in 1818 and was named after Sir Thomas Stamford raffles. The huge Raffalisia flower is the biggest flower in the world. It's pedals can reach up to 90 centimeters across. It can weigh up to 15 pounds. When in bloom it makes a smell that is similar to rotting meat. This smell attracts bugs that pollinates the plant. It is red and has 5 petals. It is very rare.
